squid people

Pictured below are squid people. These folks put on squid headdresses and blow through sea shells when the sun goes down on the beach.

Yesterday the park sent us a text saying that this morning they were going to till the beach. They said this is so the sea turtles can lay their eggs. For hundreds of years sea turtles didn't know that the beach needed to be tilled before they could lay their eggs. 

Back to the squid people... When two of them came to the beach they were carrying their head pieces. I asked if I could take their picture and they acted uncomfortable and said there are only two of us, we need the whole group or we will look silly.

I said I've seen the whole group and you will look silly when everyone is here. Tonight it was a very small group of squid people and when the sun went down the sound they made was un unenthusiastic moan. Maybe they will do better tomorrow.

Pinecraft

Pinecraft is a neighborhood in Sarasota, FL that is Amish. The Amish from the North who can come to this neighborhood for the winter or a part of the winter 

Today we ate at Yoder's Restaurant. Then we drove around.

For the first time ever I saw an Amish man hosing off (cleaning) his Astro Turf lawn. Who'da though.

Turtle Beach Campground January 27,2026

Yesterday we arrived at Turtle Beach Campground in Siesta Key, Florida. By local standards it was cold last night and this morning. It was in the 40's this morning and the wind was cold.

I took a small, quick walk this morning and took these pictures so you can see a little of the campground it is a one way, dead end street with camping spots on both sides. The sites vary in size but most are small. They. have well maintained greenery and hedges between sites so you get some privacy from the campsite next door, which is nice.

The primary attraction is that at the end of the dead end street is the beach!

Since we were here last the beach has changed. And maybe I just went out at high tide and things will look more like my memory thinks things should look. I remember there being more sand to the water ie more beach.

We will enjoy the sun today, but not the temps.

Enticement

The illegals were enticed to come here. We didn't just open up the border, we offered free phones, free food, free room and board, etc. Those who did this should also pay some price for what they did.

Good vs Evil

The following was written after the invasion by "protesters" into a Christian Church in Minneapolis a few days ago.

Leftist Progressives promote "safe spaces" for those who need refuge from the pressures of the world. At the same time they will invade a sanctuary of a church.

The work sanctuary literally means both 1) a place of refuge or safety and 2) a holy place, a temple or church.

The "journalism" that justified this invasion didn't question the invaders. The journalist interviewed the leader of the invaders beforehand and then afterwards claimed he had no foreknowledge. The journalist asked no challenging questions of the invaders, but did so of the church leader and congregants.

It was a shameful act or acts.

The demarcation of these two sides (protester invaders and worshipers) can not be more pronounced. This is literally a battle between good and evil and the question of which is which should be clear to anyone who is honest with themselves.

 I have not posted here in a very long time.

Today I re-tooled some things and will be posting here with regularity (I hope).

Why here?

I've been using my Facebook Page as a blog. In 2022 my Facebook page was attacked and taken over by someone who had somehow hacked my Gmail account. That someone then drained my linked PayPal account. I asked Facebook for help, over and over again. I jumped through every hoop that they asked of me. The page was never restored. My PayPal money was restored after PayPal determined that the money had been stolen.

The PayPal account was linked to my bank account. I had to rush to the bank and figure out how to keep these crooks out. I had to cancel credit cards and open a new email account, etc etc etc.

That's a big part of the reason.

So if you would like to be a Facebook friend that would be great. What you see here and what you see there will be the same some days, but not always.
