If you are in an organization what do you measure?
Show me what you measure and I’ll tell you what you consider important.
When I did “mergers and acquisitions” and “turn arounds”, I would always want to see what was being measured. It would tell me what they thought was important. NOT what they said was important but what they REALLY thought to be important.
What do you measure?
Not too long ago I asked a person in charge of an organization what their mission was. They told me. In the answer I found nothing that could possibly be measured.
The point here goes along with the old saying… “What gets measured gets managed.” The converse is true, “What gets managed is measured”.
If there is no measurement taking place in your organization... well... you are without a rudder.
If you are measuring things that do not reflect your mission or vision, then you do not really have the mission or vision that you think you have.
What do you measure?
