marriage advice for men who are married

Hey fellas. I’m sure some of you remember that Mother’s Day is only a few days away. Okay let’s face it, if you are a fan of this blog and reading this, then you didn’t remember at all. This post is a reminder for you slugs who have forgotten.

Some of you are saying to yourselves, she isn’t my mom… she’s my wife, why do I need to think about this.

The answer is because it is the classy thing to do and we are all about class in this blog. So go out and get her something nice.

Just think of all the nice things you wife does to make your life better. She changes the oil in your truck, she shovels snow in the winter… I could go “on and on”, but you get the point. It is up to you to honor her this one day of the year. The rest of the time you can scratch you big belly and watch TV as normal.

My wife has everything. I don’t know what to get her this year but I’ll think of something.

One year she got a chain saw. A little one because the big one we had was too much for her and I hated to see her struggle with it.

Last year she received two sets of those flat rackets tools. One set of metric and another one of  whatever the regular ones are called. I borrow them from her and they are very handy. She doesn’t seem to mind if I borrow her tools. In fact hers are so mixed up with mine it is hard to know whose is whose.

This year I will likely go to Harbor Freight and see if they might have something she would like. We are downsizing so I don’t think one of those gas powered generators is still on the list. She already has one of those little Honda ones that is only 15 amps so maybe she really doesn’t need another, even though a 30 amp generator would be nice for her.

The point is that Harbor Freight or Tractor Supply are good places to start looking if you are “stumped”.

I’m sure that your wife will be quite emotional when she sees her vice grips or cordless impact tool. She may be overwhelmed. I know my wife was overwhelmed on the first year I remember as I gave her really nice saw horses. She ran to the bedroom… overcome... emotional.

So don’t forget.

And, you are welcome.

PS It would be nice if you could share your stories with the rest of us so we will know how the day turned out for you.
